Experiences

Today, Puan Rosyida (Visual Comm lecturer) brought us to the Galeri Petronas in KLCC. By "brought" I don't mean she drove us there. Nor did she get a Unisel bus to bring us there. We either used public transport, or our own transport.

So I went to uni around 10am, passed up the assignment that Pn Rosyida asked for, and then went to Studio 2, where we were told to meet. It took quite a while to look for the place. By the time I got there, I was sweating from walking around and climbing up a dozen staircases.

We left around 11 or so. I went with Ed, Ellie and Ina. The original plan was we take Ed's car to KLCC. First, we stopped at Ellie's and Ina's rented houses to get and drop off some of their stuff. When we were at Ina's house, Ellie noticed the temperature meter of the car had gone way up. The wires for the fan had come loose. Apparently it had happened before, recently.

So we made some calls to some of their guy friends, hoping they'd know what to do. No one could really help, so we just cooled the engine a bit with water, parked the car in the driveway, and set off to go back to campus.

Thankfully, it wasn't far. We took a short cut out of the neighborhood. Down the road there was a drain in between two houses, forming a little alleyway that opened up to the main road. It was not fenced, so we walked along the ledge of the drain. After a bit, the drain split into two directions, like a T-junction, so we had to cross the drain to get to the side of the road. It was quite a way down, so we had to jump. Ina, Ellie and I had no problem with that. However, Ed is afraid of heights, so it took us quite a while to talk her into jumping. It was funny. xD

Since our first plan had backfired, we had to take public transport. Waiting for the bus took a while. We met up with another friend (Pika we call her, though that's just how it's pronounced, not how it's spelled, mind you) in the bus. After the first bus, we switched to Rapid KL, which brought us to Kl Central. I fell asleep on the bus, waking up several times to find that my mouth was hanging open. That always happens when I fall asleep in vehicles. I prefer not to wonder how many people saw me.

We took the LRT all the way to KLCC. We spent around 2 hours at the Gallery. It was pretty darn cool looking at all the artwork. Pn Rosyida told us to make notes and comment on any one artist and artwork. She wants a copy of our comments next week, darn.

By the time the five of us were done, Pn Rosyida and most of our classmates had gone. Ed wanted to go to Kinokuniya before leaving. No, I did not buy anything, sadly. Though I wanted to, of course. I didn't want to spend my money, cause I tend to get boros when I start. It was hard, cause I saw TWO DBSK photobooks omg.... TT____TT But at least neither one was Bonjour Paris or A Week Holiday, so I wasn't TOO sad.

By the time we were done browsing through Kino, it was around 5, so we headed back to the LRT station, where we were dismayed, though not surprised, to see that the station was crowded with people. Thankfully LRTs are quick, so we got to board one in less than 10 minutes. It was crowded, but we still got seats.

Once back at KL Central, we took Rapid KL to Puchong, where we went to Ellie's house to get her car, and she drove us back to Shah Alam.

I just want to say that I am very grateful we had Ellie with us, since she's the most street smart of us all. Before this, Ed, Ina and I had never ridden on a public bus before, lol. xD Elllie acted as our guide for most of the journey, though at KLCC Ed was the pro, as she goes there often. She claims Kinokuniya is her second home, hahah.

It was a really great experience, going to KLCC with friends, using public transport. Sure, it was really tiring, and uncomfortable at times, but as Pika said, it was fun. :)

They dropped me off in college before heading back to their rental homes. There, I met up with Huda. ;D We try to spend all the free time we have with each other, haha. Really, most of the credit I use in college is used to ask Huda where she is and whether she's free to meet up.

By then, it was minutes till buka time. I had told Abah that he could go home to buka first, since I was (read: am) not fasting. Huda had not bought anything, for some reason, so I suggested we order McD, since I hadn't eaten it in a while, and pretty soon we were both pretty enthusiastic about the idea. Or at least, I was.

It took quite a while for the McD to arrive, but the waiting was fun. :) Siti (Huda's friend) was there too, and we were chatting noisily in the cafeteria. The subjects? Gossip (about this person, that person... ehem ehem), HSM2 songs (Huda and I sang Bet On It ;D), fruits (CAN YOU BELIEVE HUDA DOESN'T LIKE BANANAS, OMFG.), sad movies we cried at (including Tarzan, Hostage, The Notebook...), brothers, and a multitude of other random stuff.

Then the McD arrived and we ate our dinner together. Abah had not arrived yet once we'd finished eating, so we sat and chatted some more.

Lepak-ing in a college cafeteria at 9 o'clock may not seem very special, but I sure had a lot of fun. I'm proud of the fact that people can easily tell that me and Huda have been friends before college.

At one point, Zana, my former roomie, came to the table Huda, Siti and I were sitting at. She said: "Korang sama sekolah ye?" It was obvious how she could tell, but I still asked "Camner awak tau?" because I relished hearing the answer, "Tengok pun dah tau."

In a weird way, I love it when people give us weird looks when Huda and I are talking to each other. A big reason they do so may be that fact that we speak English in an environment where Malay is the most-spoken language. But I suspect it's also because how we speak so animatedly, and should I say anime-tedly. ;D After all, how could you not expect our behaviour to stay inconspicuous. Speaking in squeaky Doraemon voices, meowing randomly, marching through campus arm-in-arm. Of course it'd turn a few heads.

It's the Huda influence.

I wasn't surprised at how fast Huda spread her Huda-ness (for lack of a better word) around to her friends. Most of them already know her affinity for frogs, her hatred for roaches and most of all, her obsession with GAY-ness. I think Huda has her own personal definition of the word, really.

Knowing what she's like, I wasn't surprised at all.

Don't you just feel like shouting out "Yeah, she's my friend and she's awesome!!!" sometimes? There are even times I don't feel like sharing my friends with other people, lol.

I'm so thankful I have one of my best friends studying in the same place as me, even if we are taking different courses.

Here's to you, Munch. ;D

But another part of me is forever sad that I don't get to be with my beloved Fee just as much. Kid, you know I miss you every moment I'm not with you, right? We haven't met up this month yet, so we better make plans soon! What I feel like doing now, is just hanging out with you, doing nothing, like we used to do at school when we were having free period.

Why doesn't life come with a rewind button?

Is this post approaching "emo"...? I don't want it to. I'm not feeling emo, just a sudden extreme affection towards two of my very best friends. Let's just leave it at that.

DALE, I love you too, aite. ;)

Abah said we are going to sahur at McD tomorrow (today, actually). I decided to follow, even though I'm unable to puasa. I want to eat ice-cream. I've been cravind McD ice-cream since forever.

I better go to sleep now then. Night, earthlings.
