Sur-Prize!

Mama, Julia and I had dinner at Nandos, Atria. We shared hot tea and hot chocolate (well, the sharing was mostly on Mama and Julia's part, because I was a little kedekut with my hot choc) because it was raining.

After that we went to Giant to get bread, but they were out, incredibly. We got some other stuff though. A chocolate bun for Julia, and something I saw near the counter...

I remember when we were still living in Australia, the three of us (as in me, Amir & Arif) used to get these, and I loved them.

Well, actually, I don't actually remember getting any. The vague memory I have could only be a dream or something. After all, I don't have any evidence that proves that I've ever gotten any.

What I'm talking about, is KINDER SURPRISE!!! Well, they're called Kinder Joy now, but who cares. Kinder Surprise sounds better, and that's how I remember it.

*sigh* I've always wanted to buy Kinder Surprise. I honestly don't know if I've ever gotten any, but I've always been wanting them, and Malaysia never seemed to have any.

And now they do! Now they do!!! xD

I haven't opened it yet... Just thinking about it fills me with a kind of childish joy. :>

Forgive me, it's a big deal to me, I think, because it symbolizes a time when I had no care in the world, much like Australia does. Hahah.

The world is good. :)

I Learned From You

Abah left for Australia yesterday. He'll be there for a week for work.

Abah: So what do you want? Books, yeah?
Mama: Art stuff lah.
me: Don't stop there.

Needless to say, (and yet I'm saying it anyway) I wish the rest of us could go too. I want to be able to remember Australia properly. Though even if we did go, there's no way we could revisit all the places and do all the things we did the last time we were there. That would take more than a year. Literally.

I miss Australia because it reminds me of a time when all I had to care about was whether Mama would find out I'd been drawing on the walls or using her lipstick.

At least I'll have souvenirs to look forward to. :)

We celebrated Uncle Kamal's birthday on Wednesday night at the Chinese restaurant in Sheraton Hotel, Subang Jaya. It was a small celebration, just the family, and some of Syafique's and Hannah's closest friends. I think it was supposed to be a surprise... but it didn't work, because some of us weren't hidden when the birthday boy arrived. xD Anyway, his birthday is next month. But it's during puasa month so...

The cake was kinda weird. The chocolate tasted a little like coconut, and the icing was really sticky, like glue. She made a figure of a man on her plate using her uneaten icing, then used crumbs to make eyes and hair, then I told her to add a moustache and raise one of its arms so that it'd turned into Hitler.

We (Nana, Dan and I) missed the birthday-song-singing, because we were in the ladies' room. Dan had to go twice.

Dan: *comes out of cubicle and looks at next cubicle* Hey, this one has a hose! I'm gonna pee again. *goes into cubicle*
me: Just because there's a hose?
Dan: No!
me: You're such a loser.
Dan: I'm not a loser! I'm a user!! *laughs*
me: ...That just proves you're a loser.

When we got back to the restaurant, they'd done the cake-cutting already. So the three of us (plus Amir and Acap) sang by ourselves. Hahah.

The next day, Anji had a small celebration at her house for Uncle Boboi and his wife, who just got married. Congratulations to the happy couple. :)

It was at night, so I went straight to the Husswan's house after classes. I was kinda tired and had a headache at first, but it soon wore off, and I had fun. :3

Unfortunately, none of the Syeds came, as Nana was feeling unwell at the time. The food was goooood though, and Dan, Lisa and I ate while Auntie Azi told us stories of her life in Dubai. She got to meet the author Paulo Coelho!

A.Azi: If I knew Spanish, I probably would have talked more.

Haha. Then we watched Armand for a while. He was a little hyper because we gave him some ice-cream. Lisa and I had an argument regarding two of Armand's toy lorries. We were bickering over which was better.

me: Yours is wood! Burnable!

I meant flammable. :P

Lisa: Yours is plastic! Bad for the environment!
me: Mine's bigger.

How mature of us, right?

me: Mine the cockpit can open!!

That was my trump card. ....Aren't cockpits only found on aircraft...?

Anyways, when we were relinquished of our Armand-watching duties, the three of us and Acap went upstairs. Acap and Lisa were recording songs, while Dan and I were in her room, doing random stuff. Before going home:

Cami: Ma, I want to change, can you follow me upstairs?
Anji: No, I still have guests. Kakak can follow you.
Acap: *in creepy/weird voice* Abang can follow you~
Cami: No! I hate you.
me: In order to hate, you must also love~
Acap: *to me* I hate you!
me: Awww~ that's so sweet! *approaches Acap*
Acap: *steps away* I love you!
me: You love me? Even better!
Acap: I don't know you!

Haha. Funny lah us.

The Syeds were absent from Opah's house on Friday too. This time Sarah was feeling unwell. So Dan and I spent our time drawing while listening to songs on her iPod. In the evening we had a craving for food, so we made ourselves a couple of toasted cheese sandwiches. :9 Then Dan and family had to leave. Acap was going to tuition, and the rest were going back home.

We met again later though, at Uncle Kamal's house. We were having a kenduri tahlil for Tok + birthday celebration for Uncle Zak & Hannah. Nana and family were there too. :)

The night was filled with the usual at kenduri tahlils and birthdays. It only occurs to me now how opposite these two events are. Huh. While the rest were baca-ing the yasin, I sat in a corner (being unable to, because of you-know-what lah) between Nana and Dan, watching everyone's faces.

After that was time to eat, and then everyone sat around chit-chatting and stuff. We went home sometime past 11 o'clock.

Saturday was a normal day, as is today, so that was my week. This was supposed to be a short entry, but...

Aite, I have to continue doing my assignments now. TTFN!

Srsly.

Rewind.

Friday. Dan and I went to Sri KDU's Merdeka carnival thingie around 3 something. We bought wafffffllllleeeessss at Lisa's class' booth, then Lisa brought us on a little tour of the school. It's so canggih, lol. Well, it is a private school after all. We didn't get to stay very long, bacause Dan had to go for singing class. Meanwhile, I was sent back to Opah's house where I hung out with the adults, and watched TV. Dan and Nana didn't get back to singing class until late. Amir took a bus home from Perak for a one-week holiday.

Saturday. During the day, I was supposed to be doing my assignment... I don't remember what I did instead. That night, I had dinner with Ain, Anji, Nana, Dan, Julia, Cami, Sarah, Adam and Imran at Secret Recipe. After that, the ten of us went to Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil to watch:

The Highschool Musical Ice Tour!!! xD Hoho, I bought these:

A plastic bag, yeah. :P It was five bucks. And also:

For those who wouldn't know, Corbin Bleu's character (Chad something lah) wore that tee in the movie. :D

Haha, I quite enjoyed the show. The jumps and spins were cool. :) When the show was over, we went to a mamak shop for supper. Yummmm, paper tose and teh-O ais. xD Then it was back home for all of us.

Sunday. In the morn, Mama, Abah and Julia went to a wedding. Amir had driving lessons. Arif was still asleep, as usual. As for me, I woke up round 6.30, and couldn't go back to sleep, so I tossed and turned and stared into space for about an hour before getting up and bathing. After having a light breakfast (meaning just a cup of teh-O) I browsed the net for a while. Then around 10 or so, Fee's mom picked me up, and dropped me, Fee and Sotong at OU, where we finally got to watch The Dark Knight. xD

*Friday
me: Lisa, Lisa, I'm gonna go out with a boy~~~
Lisa: *gasp* OMG.
Dan: Yeah, his name is Kok Tong.
Lisa: Oh, Fee's brother.
me: Ish.

First, we went to TGV (not GSC) to get the tickets, then we walked around for a bit and got ourselves some ice-cream at McD, before buying the popcorn and drinks.

What do I think of the movie...?

Well... it was okay.

Scratch that. It was AWESOME.

Heath Ledger's Joker was simply brilliant. I'd be absolutely terried if I was alone in a room with him as Joker. xD

*sigh* He was a great actor. :)

The action was great too. And I practically spazzed out when I realized who Harvey Dent was going to become. Hoho. Makes me want to rewatch the older movies all over again.

When the movie was over, Fee and I walked around while Sotong was left to look at Transformers merch (he likes Bumblebee, like me!!! xD). Fee bought Padini shades, which took a while, because she couldn't decide.

Fee: I want the Brad Pitt one.
me: D'you like Brad Pitt?
Fee: No, I didn't even know who he was. (last time)
me: That is just sad.
Fee: I know.
me: For you, not him.

They were 20% off, and she still wanted me to chip in. LOL. Biasa lah. Then we had to head back to the old wing because Sotong was complaining about us taking long. When we reached him, he and Fee started bickering about one thing or another. This continued on while we were walking all the way back to the new wing to get Big Apple Donuts (later, Sotong pointed out that its acronym spells BAD, which I find very funny), after which Abah arrived to pick us up.

Once we had gotten back home, the two had ceased their arguing and no longer had pissed looks on their faces. Haha. You two, ar. Macam budak kecik. <3

We sat at the dining table, chatting, before their mom came to pick them up. The rest of the day was spent feeling miserable while trying to finish my assignment. Padan muka.

Monday. Had drawing class as usual, and was given MORE assignments. Pak Mat (my lecturer...seriously, that's what everyone calls him) wants to kill us, I think. Or least torture us. History (of Asian Art) was cancelled because Prof Ali was busy. So I got to go home somewhat early. That night, Mama and Abah had another wedding to go to (LOTS of weddings lately) so Amir, Jules and I were dumped at Dan's house for the night. When Dan had come home form tuition, we watched Forbidden Kingdom. That movie with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. It was pretty funny. x3

Tuesday. Mama went to Perak for the day to attend a funeral, so Abah was in charge of us. Again, I don't remember what I did during the day (this means I probably did something unproductive, like watched TV or something), but I remember having lunch at Burger King, where Abah told us some jokes he found on the internet, and dinner at Vicchuda. After that we went to Anji's to pick Mama up. We singgah-ed for while, chatting and eating pulasans. Lisa was there too, for some reason. Back home, I watched animal documentaries and the last half of Saving Private Ryan.

Wednesday. I curse myself to oblivion for the fact that I can never pay full attention to my assignments. All I do is complain complain complain. Tapi bukannya nak buat betul-betul. Ish. Anyways, I've mostly been wasting time today. We are celebrating Uncle Kamal's birthday tonight. I don't know where though. I better go get ready.

I wish I wasn't such a lazy person. It's very troublesome.

Oh, and look what's done:

D:

I was supposed to watch The Dark Knight with Fee and Sotong today. (NO, I haven't watched it.) But due to timing problems, we had to cancel it.

So now I'm at home, doing my second Drawing assignment. In a way, it is even more annoying than the first. I'm not going to bother explaining everything, but in general, we need to do a tone scale for the different methods of shading: hatching, cross-hatching, scribbling, stippling and blending.

Does it sound simple? It's not. I need to do one tone scale (consisting of 9 panels) for each method. Okay, so five tone scales. Not so bad.

Yeah right. There's more. I need to use 5 media: pencil, colour pencil, pen/ink, watercolor and mixed media. Five tone-scales each. That makes 25 tone-scales.

As if that isn't enough, there's a second part, which is shading spheres. It's the same thing as the first part, using 5 media, 5 shading techniques each. So that's another 25.

Making it another fifty.

*cries pool of salty discharge*

Right now stippling (which is shading with a bunch of little dots) is driving me insane. REALLY. I want to pull out all my hair and stab my arm, and then eat my brain. It would be less painful.

Disenchanted

Request from Fee. :)

She asked for a pic like the one of Mace, so voila. Those are the lyrics to MCR's Disenchanted in the bg.

His name is Dareios (pronounced the same way as Darius) and he is part demon. :O I bet you would never have known.

Don't worry, he feeds on animals.

....Humans are, of course, animals. :)

I can't help having fun drawing these kinda stuff. They are just so freaking fun.

FIFTY?!

For my Drawing 1 class, my first assignment is to do 50 sketches of objects found in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and studio.

50 sketches. FIFTY. And I hate drawing objects, so this first assignment is NOT FUN.

I need to change my attitude.

On a brighter note, lookit what I drew yesterday!!! :)

Well, I inked it in yesterday. I started sketching it on Thursday, while I was waiting for my next class in the Unisel library.

After that I used a red pen and red and maroon colour pencils to colour the blood, and thus is the finished product:

It'd probably look better with more chains, and a background, but... well, I hate drawing chains, and I'm too scared I'd ruin it if I were to try a background. :<

Close up on the face!
And the hand. :)
Morbid, bloody drawings fascinate me. I had a lot of fun drawing this. Though I was whining and complaining a lot when doing the chains.
Oh, and btw, that's my OC, Mace. He has somewhat a tragic life. Go figure.
Mace needs his bandages changed.

Sunday

Aite, so I changed my blogskin yet again. There were some glitches with the other one. And anywhos, this one is so much simpler and easier to use. :3

Last night I attended Sri Aman's Musical Night 2008. Normally, I wouldn't have bothered, but Dan invited me so I did. Seeing as there was no one else there I knew (besides the teachers) I hung out with her and her friend, Thiru. Huda was almost going to come, but her dad was busy, so...

That afternoon, before the event, I went to register myself for second sem at Unisel. The actual process was simple and short, but the waiting took a while, so by the time we got back home it was nearly 5pm.

Left home for Sri Aman around 7.30. The even started at 8. There were the usual: dances, performances by the orchestra and the choir... I quite enjoyed them, especially the Indian dance and one of the songs the choir sang was accompanied by a little drama scene which was cute. Then there was the orchestra with their ever-enthusiastic conductor. And there were these 4 girls singing this Malay song, and they were good. :)

It finished around 10 or so. Anji picked Dan and I up, and I slept over for the night. At home, Dan ate her cough medicine, and got really sleepy, so we didn't do much before going to sleep. I did, though, show her this video: Christian the Lion. It's a really sweet video. It made me cry the first time I saw it. And it's about a LION. So go watch it. :3

In the morning, I had breaky with Anji and Dan at a mamak shop in Bangsar. Been a long time since I'd eaten paper tose. :9 After that Dan had to go to piano class, so we saw her off, then walked to Bangsar Village where the two of us separated for the mean time: Anji to Kool Kutz to do work, and me to MPH to...have fun. x3

I bought another booooooook! :O Tis called Lankhmar by Fritz Leiber. I'm in a fantasy novel mood. Am reading the Black Magician trilogy now. Borrowed from Dan. :)

Dan finished her class at 11, so after picking her up and going to the grocer's for some stuff, we headed back to the Husswan residence, where Abah and Mama picked me up.

August 1st was SKBD's Fun Friday Night, which a bunch of us (me, Dan, Nana, Lisa, Ain, Acap, Husaini, Adam, Sarah, Imran, Omar, Julia, Cami) went to. It was pretty fun. At 7.45, they had a movie in the field: Transformers. I finally got to finish watching it! x3

And I must say, I am in love with

BUMBLEBEE.

What did you think I was gonna say? Shia LeBouf?

There was a second movie after that: Mission Impossible 3. But we didn't stay for it, since the little kids were tired, and so were we.

Argh, my holidays are coming to an end... : <
